Largest solar plant in central Sierra: 3,700 panels generate more than 2 megawatts for glass production

The newly inaugurated solar power plant, considered the largest in central Sierra, is a significant development for Fairis, an Ecuadorian company producing high-performance glass. This plant delivers 42% of Fairis's electricity needs through its impressive array of 3,700 solar panels spread across 10,600 square meters, generating an installed capacity of 2.2 megawatts (MW). The transition to solar energy is not only pivotal for the company's operational efficiency but also represents an important step towards sustainable energy use in the Ecuadorian industrial sector.
Executed by the Ecuadorian firm SolarTeam, the project showcases local engineering capabilities and an adherence to international standards for efficiency and safety. The solar plant is expected to generate approximately 3,175,176 kWh of clean energy annually, substantially contributing to Fairis's goal of integrating renewable energy sources in its production processes.
