Moga Sarpanch Murder Case... Murder Happened After Helping a Girl, 4 Arrested

The village head Harvinder Singh was murdered in Moga, Punjab after allegedly helping a woman, leading to the arrest of four suspects.

On March 6th, in the Moga district of Punjab, village head Harvinder Singh, known as Happy, was shot dead in broad daylight by assailants who arrived in a Fortuner vehicle. Following the incident, Rupinder Kaur, a woman who Singh had helped in the past, revealed that his murder was orchestrated by her husband and his family due to his assistance to her. Singh's father corroborated her statements, indicating that the help his son provided to a girl from the village of Jemal Wala was the motive behind the murder.

The police based on the father's statement registered a case against several individuals including Rupinder's husband Manpreet Singh alias Babloo and others. The accused fled to Jammu and Kashmir after the murder. Utilizing CCTV footage, the police were able to identify the suspects and initiated a manhunt which culminated in their arrest in Jammu and Kashmir. The accused have since been handed over to the Moga police for further legal proceedings.

This incident highlights serious concerns regarding women's safety and domestic matters in Punjab, as well as the potent dangers faced by those who choose to aid vulnerable individuals.
