Thieves invade collector's house and steal pistols, rifle, and revolver in Uberlândia
Two men were arrested in Uberlândia, Brazil, for stealing eight firearms from a collector's home.
In Uberlândia, Brazil, two men aged 28 and 46 were arrested on suspicion of stealing eight firearms from a collector's house in the Tabajaras neighborhood. The burglary occurred on the night of Friday the 13th, when the men broke into the residence and made off with a rifle, a revolver, and six 9mm pistols, along with ammunition and personal items belonging to the owner. The local police were able to identify the suspects using surveillance footage from the house.
After analyzing the security camera images, the police located the suspects in the Lagoinha neighborhood, where they were arrested. During their arrest, the suspects claimed that they had been hired by a third party to commit the theft. They mentioned that this individual was responsible for keeping the stolen firearms and ammunition. Efforts were ongoing to locate this third suspect as well as recover the stolen weapons, which raised concerns about the potential circulation of illegal firearms in the community.
The collector, who has a legal registration for the firearms, is currently dealing with the aftermath of the burglary, while the police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
