Two young men arrested suspected of drug trafficking in Valença

Two young men were arrested in Valença, Brazil, on suspicion of drug trafficking after being found with illegal substances and cash.

On Saturday afternoon, two 20-year-old men were arrested in Valença, Rio de Janeiro, suspected of drug trafficking in the Santa Rosa II neighborhood. Police on patrol noticed the suspects, who were already recognized for their involvement with a criminal faction. One of the individuals is reported to manage the drug trafficking in that area of the neighborhood.

During the police approach, both suspects admitted to hiding drugs that were packaged and ready for sale. Authorities seized 21 tubes of white powder, which is presumed to be a controlled substance, along with two mobile phones and R$ 62 in cash. This significant seizure highlights ongoing issues with drug trafficking and organized crime in the region.

Following their apprehension, the pair was taken to the Valença police station where they will face charges for drug trafficking. They are currently in custody, awaiting legal proceedings.
