Duo investigated for dining in establishments and leaving without paying in Greater Fortaleza
Two men are being investigated for dining and leaving without payment at various establishments in the Greater Fortaleza area.
Two individuals are currently under investigation for dine-and-dash incidents in the Greater Fortaleza area. They allegedly consumed approximately R$ 200 in food and beverages at a restaurant on Rua Alexandre Jóca in the Mangueiral neighborhood, evading payment on the evening of December 12. The establishment’s legal representative, Paulo Sidney, reported that the pair strategically chose a less visible table outdoors to avoid being recorded by surveillance cameras. After finishing their meals, they fled the scene without settling their bill.
The previous day, on December 11, the two suspects engaged in a similar act at a barbecue restaurant on Avenida Presidente Castelo Branco in Central Horizonte, leaving behind an unpaid bill of R$ 166.65. The manager of that establishment filed a police report following the incident, highlighting a worrying trend of such behavior in the area.
Authorities are now looking into these incidents as part of a broader investigation into theft and deception in the restaurant sector. The recurring nature of these dine-and-dash events raises concerns among local business owners, who are calling for increased vigilance and support from law enforcement to prevent similar future occurrences and protect their establishments from further losses.
