Vittozzi Dominated the Women's Pursuit, Külm Came in 18th

Lisa Vittozzi of Italy won the women's 10km pursuit race in Otepää, while Susan Külm finished in 18th place after starting from 10th.

At the women’s 10km pursuit race in Otepää, Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi secured her second individual stage victory of the season, clocking a time of 33 minutes and 33.7 seconds. Starting from the 10th position, Estonian athlete Susan Külm finished in 18th place. The race was marked by Vittozzi's excellent shooting skills, as she delivered a strong performance that allowed her to maintain a commanding lead, especially after her competitors faced difficulties in the shooting range.

Vittozzi was closely followed by French athlete Julia Simon, who initially led the race but struggled in the shooting range, making mistakes that cost her the podium. Simon started strong, but by the third shooting round, she faltered with two missed shots. This misstep allowed Vittozzi to take over the lead, and although Vittozzi had one miss in the final range, her strong lead was unshakeable.

The competition for the second and third places heated up between Simon’s teammate Lou Jeanmonnot and Finland’s Suvi Minkkinen, with Minkkinen narrowly securing second place by just 0.7 seconds. The race showcased not only individual skill but also the fierce competition among the athletes, accentuating the significant performances during the biathlon World Cup season.
