Lithuanian beach volleyball players I. Vasiliauskaitė and E. Kliokmanaitė made their mark in an elite tournament in Brazil, showcasing their talent after qualifying for the main event. They impressed fans by defeating the 2024 European champions, Germany’s Svenja Muller and Cinja Tillmann, marking a significant victory for the duo. However, they faced a setback in the group stage match against Brazilian players Carolina Horta and Eliza Maia, ending with a score of 0:2 and thus moving into the knockout round with a second-place finish in Group F.
In the knockout stage, Vasiliauskaitė and Kliokmanaitė continued to put up a formidable fight but were ultimately eliminated by Brazilian athletes Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes, who had previously secured fourth place in the World Championship.
