In the semifinal of their group, they faced tough American opponents, Diego Perez and David Wieczorek, but were unable to advance, losing 0-2. Despite this setback, the Lithuanians managed to secure a victory against another American team, Mark Bucknam and Owen Karlenzig, with a decisive score of 2-0, which earned them a place in the playoffs.

In the first round of the playoffs, Mačionis and Sinkevičius showcased their skills by defeating New Zealand's John McManaway and Joshua Tiplady in a closely-fought match that lasted 51 minutes, winning it 2-1. However, their progress was halted in the quarterfinals where they lost to another American duo, Gage Basey and Thomas Hurst, in a tight match that ended 1-2.
