On March 13, at approximately 6:20 PM, an explosion occurred near a marine container located by a lake in Širvintos County, in the village of Špokiškis. The explosion was believed to be caused by construction foam that ignited from a heater, leading to the fire and subsequent explosion. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and found two injured men, aged 72 and 48, who were then transported to the hospital for treatment.
Additionally, a luxury vehicle, a 2019 Lexus RX450H, was discovered nearby and showed signs of damage, likely as a result of the explosion. The authorities are currently investigating the incident, as officials have begun collecting evidence under Article 187 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code, which pertains to causing an explosion and endangering public safety.
