The family was among 118 Haitian passengers on a charter flight who faced delays and fears of returning to Haiti, which is currently experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis. After enduring a long wait at the airport, including a night spent inside the terminal, Joseph and his family were finally allowed to enter Brazil. Grateful for the official documents permitting their stay, the family expressed relief and happiness at having reached safety. They were welcomed by a friend in Brazil who assisted in their transition, allowing them to leave Campinas for Curitiba.
