Brazil's Federal Police is conducting a registration drive for Haitians detained at Viracopos Airport after a flight brought them from Haiti, due to documentation issues.
The Federal Police of Brazil has initiated a registration operation for 97 Haitian migrants detained at Viracopos Airport in Campinas, São Paulo, following their arrival on a charter flight. These migrants had been held in the airport for over 40 hours, with a significant portion of that time spent inside the aircraft due to issues concerning their documentation. This operation, which began on Saturday, aims to facilitate the migrants' admission into Brazil and provide them with the necessary support.
