The United Nations has raised alarms about the dire humanitarian crisis unfolding in Lebanon, urging donors to provide essential assistance to the Lebanese people amidst escalating violence there. Secretary-General António Guterres has issued an urgent humanitarian appeal for $325 million to support the country's needs. In a recent interview, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric conveyed that this appeal was made during Guterres' visit to Lebanon, emphasizing several initiatives to encourage parties involved to halt the fighting.

Currently, there is a sharp focus on Lebanon as civilians find themselves entangled in the ongoing conflict. Reports estimate that over 800,000 individuals have been displaced, frequently seeking refuge in northern areas.
