On November 13, 2025, a suspect in the robbery of a financial institution in the Cohab neighborhood of São Luís was apprehended by the Maranhão Civil Police. The Department for the Combat of Robberies to Financial Institutions (DCRIF) of the State Criminal Investigations Superintendent (SEIC) reported that the arrested individual is believed to be a key member of the criminal group responsible for the robbery. In addition to his involvement in this heist, authorities indicated that the suspect has a criminal history with multiple charges, including three murders that have been documented in São Luís.
