UBS in Nova Odessa hold health fair for blood glucose tests, Pap smears, vaccinations, and STI tests; see dates and locations

UBS units in Nova Odessa are organizing health fairs in March that include preventive exams, vaccinations, and rapid tests for STIs.

Five Basic Health Units (UBS) in Nova Odessa, São Paulo, are conducting health fairs throughout March starting Saturday (14) to offer various preventive health services to the community. These services include Pap smear collections, blood pressure and glucose checks, rapid tests for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and vaccination updates for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

The initiative emphasizes the significance of preventive healthcare, particularly the Pap smear test, which is crucial for early detection of precancerous cervical lesions. This type of cancer is one of the most common affecting women in Brazil, and early diagnosis significantly increases the chances of successful treatment, reaching up to 100% if detected early. The health fairs aim to enhance community awareness about these critical health services and encourage individuals to seek preventive measures.

By providing these health services free of charge, the UBS aims to reduce the barriers to accessing healthcare and promote better health outcomes among the population. With an emphasis on prevention and early detection, these health fairs represent a significant step toward improving public health in Nova Odessa, encouraging proactive health management within the community.
