Police seek suspects in kidnapping and attempted robbery against businessman in the interior of Amazonas
The Amazonas Civil Police are searching for two suspects involved in the kidnapping and attempted robbery of a businessman in Itapiranga, Brazil.
The Amazonas Civil Police (PC-AM) have released images of two men wanted in connection with a kidnapping and attempted robbery that occurred in Itapiranga, a municipality in the interior of Amazonas state. The suspects, Marcelo França de Castro, 34, and Natanael Oliveira de Castro, 29, are believed to have been involved in the crime that took place on March 4th of this year. The incident began when the businessman was accosted by four men outside his home and subsequently taken to a rural road where he was assaulted and forced to make electronic money transfers through Pix.
During the harrowing ordeal, the victim was shot and later abandoned in a public area where he managed to request help. The investigation was launched promptly after the hospital informed authorities about the injured businessman. Police have since gathered evidence implicating Natanael and Marcelo in the crime and are continuing to pursue leads to identify additional perpetrators involved in the incident.
This case highlights ongoing issues related to violent crime and insecurity in certain regions of Brazil, especially in rural areas where such incidents can often go unreported.
