Claro, the telecommunications company in Ecuador, plans to invest $600 million in new technologies and network coverage over the next three years.

Claro, the telecom company operated by América Móvil, is set to invest $600 million in the next three years to enhance its technologies, networks, and overall coverage in Ecuador. This announcement was made by Daniel Hajj, the General Director of América Móvil, following a meeting with the President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, on March 12, 2026. The investment is in addition to previous agreements regarding the concession of radio spectrum, with contracts renewed in November 2025 for another fifteen years with Conecel (Claro) and Otecel (Movistar). The agreed payment for Conecel was established at $597 million.

The company emphasized its commitment to transforming the telecommunications landscape in Ecuador through significant investments that contribute to comprehensive development. Claro asserts that these investments are generating thousands of direct and indirect jobs while being committed to innovation and providing world-class technology and service.
