To improve operational efficiency and adapt to changing demands, the Indian Railways continually makes technological and structural modifications. Recently, the Eastern Railway division has announced changes to the numbers and categories of certain important trains.

As part of this initiative, several superfast trains have had their numbers changed, with updates for passengers being provided for their convenience. For instance, the Howrah-Dehradun Super Fast Express, which was previously numbered 13027/12328, will now have the new number 13035/13036 starting April 14. Moreover, the category of this train has also been changed from 'Superfast' to 'Mail Express'. Similarly, the Howrah-Dehradun Express's number will change from 12369/12370 to 13037/13038, with its category status shifting to Mail/Express. These changes reflect a broader strategy by the Indian Railways to streamline services and potentially improve passenger experience by making travel smoother and more consistent.

The frequency and importance of these train services highlight their significance in daily commuting and long-distance travel across India. Such modifications not only help in maintaining the efficiency of the railway network but also signal an ongoing commitment to adapt to the requirements of the travelling public.
