The Indian Railways has announced a list of special trains for the Holi festival to accommodate the increased passenger demand as many people from UP and Bihar travel home for the celebrations.

As the Holi festival approaches, the Indian Railways has unveiled its schedule for special trains aimed at easing the travel for passengers, especially those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who typically return to their homes during this festive period. This year, similar to previous years, the Railways is operating special trains to manage the heightened demand during Holi. It can often be challenging to secure confirmed tickets during this busy travel season, which is why the addition of these special services is crucial for ensuring that people can return home for the celebrations.

The Chief Public Relations Officer of the East Central Railway, Saraswati Chandra, explained that in response to the expected surge of passengers during Holi, several special trains are being operated. The list includes services from Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Sri Ganganagar among other destinations. The special trains are set to run at various times, facilitating better connectivity for travelers looking to reach their homes for the festive celebrations.

One of the highlighted services includes the Pune-Danapur-Pune Special train (train numbers 01481/01482) which will operate from February 23 to March 6, 2026. This train will depart from Pune at 19:55 on Mondays and Fridays and reach Danapur after making stops at various key stations along the way, including DDU, Prayagraj, and Ara. Providing such detailed information regarding routes, timings, and specific stoppages is essential for aiding travelers in planning their journeys effectively during this busy festive period.
