Industry and services boost Amazonas' GDP in 2025
The GDP of Amazonas experienced a significant growth in the fourth quarter of 2025, showing a real increase of 4.41% for the entire year due to industrial and service sector advancements.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Amazonas' Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached R$ 48.14 billion, marking a 7.69% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024, as reported by the Amazonas State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology, and Innovation (Sedecti). When adjusted for inflation using the National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), the real growth of the stateβs economy stood at 3.29%. Compared to the third quarter of 2025, there was a real growth of 0.70%, suggesting steady economic conditions as the year closed. In terms of the annual performance, the total GDP for Amazonas in 2025 amounted to R$ 187.10 billion, reflecting a real growth of 4.41% over the previous year, 2024. The consistent rise in GDP is attributed to advancements in the industrial and service sectors, which have played a crucial role in the economic landscape of the state. Economists note that these figures demonstrate the resilience of Amazonas' economy despite broader economic challenges at the national level. Looking ahead, Alcides Saggioro, the economic advisor at Sedecti, expressed optimistic projections for the economic outlook of Amazonas, despite predictions of reduced growth for the Brazilian economy in 2026. The optimism seems grounded in specific strategies and initiatives aimed at sustaining the growth momentum in key economic sectors, which may continue to shield Amazonas from some national economic downturns, reinforcing its distinctive economic identity within Brazil.
