GDP of Pará grows 7.85% in the 3rd quarter of 2025, points out Fapespa
Pará's GDP increased by 7.85% in Q3 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, significantly outpacing Brazil's average growth.
According to data released by the Amazon Foundation for Supporting Studies and Research (Fapespa), the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Pará state experienced a remarkable growth of 7.85% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024. In contrast, Brazil's overall GDP growth during the same period was just 1.82%. This demonstrates the resilience and strengthening of the local economy, particularly in a challenging national economic landscape. Pará's GDP reached R$ 72.5 billion for the quarter, representing 2.2% of the entire country's economy, although there was a slight decrease in the state's contribution compared to previous quarters.
The main driver behind Pará's impressive economic performance is the agro-industrial sector, which saw substantial growth of 30.22% compared to the same time last year. Key agricultural outputs, particularly maize and soybeans, played a crucial role in this growth, with first and second harvests for maize showing increases of 48.4% and 45.2% respectively. Additionally, the livestock sector benefited from both increased production and rising cattle prices, further boosting the overall economic figures for the state.
Complementing this growth, the industrial sector in Pará also saw an impressive increase of 12.06%, which hints at the potential diversification of the state's economic activities. As these sectors continue to perform well, they also contribute to a more robust local economy that can better withstand national economic fluctuations. The overall performance indicates not only recovery but a potential for future growth opportunities in Pará, which could attract more investments and enhance the livelihood of its residents.
