A wedding ceremony in the Waziri Pur area of Delhi transformed into chaos as a violent dispute broke out during the procession, resulting in the death of one man. The incident occurred in the JJ Colony of the Bhagat Nagar police area, where an argument over clearing the way escalated into a physical attack involving belts, sticks, and iron rods. The victim suffered severe injuries and later succumbed to his wounds, while two others were reported injured in the melee. Law enforcement was notified of the altercation after reports of a disturbance were made through a PCR call, prompting a quick response from the police.
On March 12, 2026, the police received information regarding the fight and rushed to the scene. However, by the time they arrived, the injured individuals had already been transported to Deepchand Bandhu Hospital. The police confirmed that two individuals, Mohan Lal (42) and Virender (47), were admitted with injuries and were residents of the JJ Colony in Waziri Pur. The investigation revealed that the conflict arose near Mata Park (Pathwari Park) concerning the passage for the wedding procession, which led to a group of young men launching a violent attack on the victim.
Authorities have started a comprehensive investigation into the incident, investigating the roles of various individuals involved, particularly focusing on one suspect known as Sahil or Natwala, who may have been directly implicated in the attack.
