Preferably with cash for the Friday party. The largest banks report night outages

Major Czech banks will undergo overnight outages affecting online payments and mobile transactions this weekend, urging customers to use cash instead.

In response to planned system upgrades, major banks in Czechia, including Česká spořitelna and ČSOB, are advising clients to use cash for larger payments this weekend due to anticipated outages. The upgrades are intended to enhance the resilience and stability of digital banking platforms, with payments through terminals expected to continue without interruptions. Despite this, internet and mobile payments will not be available during the downtime, which is scheduled to last until Saturday afternoon for some banks.

The spokesperson for Česká spořitelna highlighted that while transactions using payment cards at merchants and ATM withdrawals will remain functional, clients may experience limitations with online payment methods. This proactive communication aims to alleviate potential inconveniences for customers during the outages as they transition to enhanced banking systems aimed at improving user experience.

Additionally, mBank has announced a similar outage for early Sunday morning, indicating a significant intervention in their banking systems scheduled to begin at 2:30 AM. Both domestic and international banking clients are being notified in advance, emphasizing the importance for users to prepare for the service interruptions, thus underscoring the importance of cash during this time.
