Arla recalls lactose-free milk
Arla has announced a recall of lactose-free milk due to quality issues in some production processes.
Arla, a Swedish dairy company, has initiated a recall of its lactose-free milk products, specifically the lactose-free semi-skimmed milk in portion packs with a best before date of February 14, 2027, and line code T5. This decision was made following the discovery of a quality deviation during the production process that affects long shelf-life products, indicating that the contents did not meet Arla's quality standards.
The company reassured consumers that there is no cause for alarm for those who may have consumed the milk, noting that the chance of the affected products reaching customers is minimal as they had only recently been distributed. Additionally, Arla indicated that even if the defective product had been ingested, it would likely only result in mild gastrointestinal discomfort for a period of up to 24 hours.
This recall reflects Arla's commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in its products and ensuring consumer safety. Such actions are critical in the food industry, especially for dairy products that are widely consumed. By swiftly addressing this issue, Arla aims to mitigate any potential health concerns while upholding its reputation for quality.
