Forum dismisses claims of N210tn missing in NNPC accounts
A Nigerian coalition of professionals has rejected allegations that N210 trillion is unaccounted for in the National Petroleum Company's finances, calling the claim politically motivated and mathematically impossible.
The Ajiyya Solidarity Forum (ASF), a group representing various professionals in Nigeria, has strongly dismissed recent allegations regarding a massive N210 trillion supposedly missing from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). ASF National Coordinator Usman Hamza addressed the media, asserting that such claims are not only misleading but are also "mathematically impossible." He emphasized that the figure is out of sync with Nigeria's financial reality, particularly in light of the country's total national budget for 2024, which is pegged at approximately N28.7 trillion. Hamza's comments underline a significant concern regarding the integrity of financial reporting and accountability in Nigeria's oil sector.
