10 Bangladeshis Living in Delhi on Fake Medical Visas Arrested

Delhi police arrested ten Bangladeshi nationals who were illegally residing in India on fake medical visas with plans to travel to Europe.

The Delhi police's Foreigners Cell has launched a significant operation against foreign nationals living illegally in the area, resulting in the arrest of ten Bangladeshi citizens. These individuals were residing in India under false pretenses, using fraudulent medical visas as part of a larger plan to reach Europe, specifically Bulgaria. The operation was based on a tip-off regarding the presence of foreign nationals who had overstayed their visas.

On March 6, 2026, the team from the Foreigners Cell surrounded the DDA Park near Peeragadhi Chowk, suspecting that illegal residents were hiding there. As the police approached, the suspects attempted to flee; however, the police successfully apprehended them. Upon inspection, none of the arrested individuals could provide valid identification or necessary documents for residing in India, highlighting the severity of their illegal status.

Further interrogation revealed that these Bangladeshi nationals intended to use India as a transit point to secure medical visas for Bulgaria. The investigation indicates a broader issue of illegal immigration and visa fraud, raising concerns over the effectiveness of immigration regulations and border management in India.
