In the Kiratpur area of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, police have apprehended a suspect accused of setting a vehicle on fire in a bid to incite disturbance. The incident occurred on the night of March 4, 2026, when a complainant reported that his pickup truck had been doused in petrol and ignited by an unidentified assailant. Following the complaint, a formal investigation was launched, leading to the discovery of significant clues.
The investigation yielded important leads, culminating in the identification of the suspect as Abuzar Shamim Rain, son of Shamim Ahmed, from the Afghan Mohalla neighborhood in Kiratpur. Following his identification, police arrested him on March 12. During interrogation, Shamim Shocked investigators with his revelations, stating that he worked at a salon in Gurugram, Haryana. Due to illness and financial distress, he had sought financial assistance from his relative, Zaid, who works as a barber in Panvel, Maharashtra.
