Vorcaro's Brother-in-law Invested R$ 26 Million in Resort Fund Linked to Toffoli
Fabiano Zettel, brother-in-law of Daniel Vorcaro, invested R$ 26 million in a fund associated with the minister of the Brazilian Supreme Court, Dias Toffoli.
Fabiano Zettel, the brother-in-law and financial operator of Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master, invested R$ 26 million in the Leal fund during the second half of 2022. The Leal fund controls another fund, Arleen, which was a partner of Supreme Federal Court Minister Dias Toffoli and his family in a hotel resort named TayayΓ‘ in Rio Claro, Brazil. This investment raises questions about potential conflicts of interest given Toffoli's role as a public official overseeing investigations into possible criminal activities linked to Banco Master.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Arleen fund was part of a fraudulent network associated with Banco Master and had business ties with two of Toffoli's brothers. The timing of these associations is troubling, especially since Toffoli was the reporting judge for an inquiry into possible crimes committed by Banco Master at that time. His decisions during this period drew scrutiny from investigators, who found it strange that he had not disclosed his connections to the company.
With the emergence of these connections between Toffoli and Vorcaro, pressure on the minister began to mount, eventually becoming unbearable after a Federal Police report was delivered to him detailing these potential conflicts. The situation highlights significant concerns regarding the intersection of business interests and government oversight in Brazil, particularly as scrutiny of high-profile public figures increases.
