Toffoli says he received money for being a partner in the company that sold the resort to Vorcaro's fund

Brazilian Supreme Court Minister Dias Toffoli disclosed that he received payments from the Maridt company after it sold its share in the Tayayá resort to a fund linked to banker Daniel Vorcaro.

In a recent revelation, Brazilian Supreme Court Minister Dias Toffoli acknowledged receiving money from Maridt, a company that sold its share in the Tayayá resort to a fund associated with banker Daniel Vorcaro. This marks the first time Toffoli has publicly detailed his connection to the resort and Maridt, amidst ongoing investigations by the Federal Police into financial transactions involving the magistrate.

Toffoli explained that he has been a partner in Maridt for several years, although his name does not appear in the company's public documents. This is because Maridt operates as a closed corporation, where shareholders' names are not accessible to the public, unlike publicly traded companies. Consequently, only the names of his two brothers, who are the company's administrators, are listed in official records.

Despite scrutiny and investigations into the financial transfers over the years, Toffoli maintains that all funds received were legal. His statement aims to clarify his involvement amid increasing pressure from inquiries and public speculation over potential conflicts of interest concerning his judicial position.
