Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 22nd installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme today, benefiting millions of farmers with ₹2000 directly credited to their accounts.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is launching the 22nd installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi, which will provide financial relief to millions of farmers across India. During a program in Guwahati, Assam, ₹2000 will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of more than 9 crore farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The government is set to allocate over ₹18,000 crores for this initiative, marking a significant financial support to the agricultural sector.

In addition to aiding men, over 2.15 crore female farmers will also receive financial assistance under this scheme. The government asserts that this initiative has strengthened the economic position of women farmers in rural areas and increased their participation in agricultural activities. Such direct financial support aims to empower women and enhance their roles in farming, thereby contributing to overall rural development.

By implementing the DBT method, the scheme aims to eliminate intermediaries and ensure that the financial benefits reach farmers directly without any delays. The core objective of the Kisan Samman Nidhi is to support small and marginal farmers in India, providing them with a safety net amid various agricultural challenges, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to sustain their livelihoods.
