Myeongji University has completed renovations of the 4th-floor 'Creative Convergence Space' in its Human Campus Student Hall to support student learning and relaxation.
Myeongji University has unveiled its newly renovated 'Creative Convergence Space' located on the 4th floor of the Student Hall in the Human Campus, designed to foster both learning and relaxation for students. The renovation was initiated to update aging facilities and enhance the efficiency and convenience of student usage, focusing on creating a multifunctional area for study and leisure activities. The project began discussions at the request of the Humanities Student Support Team in May 2025, followed by budget negotiations and design work over three months, concluding with the construction phase in December 2025.
The renovation process prioritized structural stability and facility maintenance, while also considering the design elements that promote a comfortable atmosphere for students. The newly designed space features a brighter ambiance with calming wood tones, utilizing curves and straight lines to create a warm yet orderly study environment. Furniture arrangements were strategically updated for improved usability, with custom-designed desks tailored to the unique characteristics of the space. The incorporation of light and landscaping elements further enhances the openness of the area, complemented by Myeongji University’s symbolic colors to reinforce the campus identity.
Another significant aspect of the renovation was the replacement of outdoor units to improve heating and cooling environments. This upgrade will maintain a stable and comfortable temperature throughout the renovated space. Wo Sang-kyun, a member of the university's General Affairs Facilities Team, emphasized that the project was centered around creating a study lounge where students can enjoy both learning and relaxation. He further assured that the university would continue to assess campus facilities for ongoing improvements, aiming to enhance the overall quality of the student environment.
