Implementing More Smiles: 2nd phase expects a thousand appointments in Entre Rios
The Implementing More Smiles program in Brazil's Entre Rios region has resumed, aiming for 983 dental appointments until March 20.
The 'Implementing More Smiles' program, managed by the State Health Secretariat of Piauí, has kicked off its second phase in Entre Rios, Brazil, starting from March 9. This initiative is designed to provide much-needed dental care to residents from 31 municipalities in the region, with a total of 983 appointments scheduled until March 20. Appointments are taking place daily in front of the Military Police Hospital in Teresina, serving patients who underwent preliminary screening in the program's first phase.
During this phase, patients who previously participated in an initial screening process have been contacted and informed of their scheduled appointment days. To ensure a smooth process, patients are required to bring copies of their identification documents such as RG, CPF, as well as proof of residency and their SUS card on the day of their appointments. This program not only highlights the ongoing efforts to improve dental health in underserved areas but also facilitates easier access to necessary dental care for many individuals.
Program coordinator Baruc Bandeira emphasized the importance of this phase, stating that it focuses on scanning and molding the dental prosthetics that will be produced for patients. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents by addressing their dental needs, particularly in the context of a population that often faces barriers to accessing this essential health service. This program is crucial as it strives to deliver comprehensive dental healthcare, which can have broader implications for overall health and well-being in the region.
