Civil Registry expands passport issuance to 64 agencies in Ecuador

The Civil Registry of Ecuador announced an expansion of passport issuance services to a total of 64 agencies nationwide, aiming to enhance efficiency and accessibility for citizens.

On March 12, the Civil Registry of Ecuador informed that it is enlarging the distribution of passport issuance services across the country, bringing the total to 64 agencies. This decision is part of the government's commitment to provide more efficient public services to its citizens. The initiative aims to reduce waiting times and improve the quality of service delivered to Ecuadorians in need of passports.

The Civil Registry had previously initiated this expansion phase in January by launching passport issuance at specific agencies in Tumbaco and Quitumbe, located in Quito, along with the Rumiñahui agency. These initial agencies have successfully provided passport services with documents delivered within 24 hours of application. As of March 12, an additional 34 agencies across Ecuador will join this effort, demonstrating the state's dedication to modernizing public services and responding to the citizens' needs.

Ottón Rivadeneira, the director of the Civil Registry, highlighted the government's intention to transform public services for the benefit of the population. This expansion is expected to significantly ease the process of obtaining passports for many Ecuadorians, thus facilitating international travel and improving overall access to governmental services.
