Bryq: The use of artificial intelligence tools by employees in Greece is increasing, but the skills gap remains significant

The adoption of artificial intelligence tools among Greek workers is on the rise, yet a significant skills gap persists.

The usage of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by employees in Greece has seen a noteworthy increase, with a recent study indicating that 43% of Greek workers have utilized AI tools in the past year, marking a doubling in daily usage compared to last year. Despite this surge in technology adoption, a concerning 51% of these workers have reported lacking sufficient AI-related skills. This highlights a growing divide between the technological advancements in workplaces and the ability of employees to effectively utilize these tools.

To address the skills deficit, Bryq, a human resources technology firm, has introduced the AI Proficiency Assessment, a new tool designed to evaluate employees' skills in artificial intelligence. This assessment aims to measure how candidates practically use AI tools, grounded in scientifically validated research frameworks. It focuses on five key dimensions of practical AI usage, indicating a targeted approach towards fostering a more skilled workforce in the realm of AI.

As businesses in Greece increasingly integrate AI tools into their operations, the challenge of upskilling employees becomes critical. The gap in AI proficiency poses potential risks to productivity and innovation, making it imperative for organizations to implement training programs that enhance their workforce's capabilities. The findings from PwC's Workforce Hopes & Fears 2025 report underscore the urgency for strategic educational initiatives to bridge this skills gap, ensuring that Greek workers are equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
