Lilija Berzinska, who passed away at the young age of 47, was a prominent Latvian writer and translator, celebrated for her contributions to both children's and adult literature. Her literary debut came in 2009 with the self-illustrated children's book "Nezināmais zvērs," which paved the way for numerous other works, including several celebrated titles like "Ziloņu dārzs" and "Lamzaks meklē Lamzaku." Beyond children's literature, she also penned adult fiction, with her first novel, "Putnu osta," released in 2015, followed by various other titles that showcased her versatile storytelling skills.
