Kwara donates industrial garri machines to community
The Kwara State Government has provided industrial cassava flour processing machines to the community of Owode Oja to boost production and create sustainable job opportunities.
On Wednesday, the Kwara State Government officially donated several industrial cassava flour processing machines to the Owode Oja community in Asa Local Government Area. This initiative aims to enhance local production capabilities, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable development within the area. The equipment included essential machinery such as a dewatered cassava mash fryer, a cassava mash sifter, and a cassava grater, which collectively possess a substantial daily processing capacity of 1.5 tonnes.
The donation was part of broader efforts outlined by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who previously visited the community in August 2025 to assess road projects and engage with local women regarding their needs. Governor AbdulRazaq has been vocal about his commitment to empowering local residents beyond mere infrastructure by addressing their economic and production needs. The provision of these machines underscores his focus on fostering self-reliance and economic prosperity among the people of Kwara State.
During the presentation of the machines, representatives from the government highlighted the governor's dedication to fulfilling his promises and his desire to see local communities thrive. As the state's commitment to improving livelihoods continues, this initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing local agricultural production and generating employment opportunities, potentially transforming the economic landscape of the Owode Oja community.
