Program offers 180 vacancies and prizes of R$ 369,000 for students in MS; find out how to participate
A new educational program in Brazil, 'Estudante no Controle', aims to empower students by engaging them in civic auditing and public management, offering 180 availability spots and prizes totaling R$ 369,000 for successful projects.
The 'Estudante no Controle' program in Brazil has opened registrations for its latest edition, aimed at helping students understand social control and public management in practical ways. The initiative encourages youth to analyze their school's reality, identify challenges, and develop actions to enhance their environment while fostering citizenship. The program consists of five stages, including training workshops, civic audits, action planning, special assignments, and a final challenge.
During the civic auditing phase, participants investigate real-life issues such as infrastructure, sustainability, inclusion, and public resource allocation within their schools. Based on their findings, they formulate intervention projects designed to address the identified challenges. This hands-on approach not only equips students with practical skills but also encourages them to take initiative in improving their educational settings.
To incentivize participation, the best projects from students across the state will receive financial rewards. According to the program's announcement, a total of 15 schools will be awarded prizes, which include cash allocations for teachers as well as student teams, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork in creating positive change. The program's structure and rewards aim to heighten student engagement and ultimately foster a culture of civic responsibility among young people.
