High school and EJA of Colégio João XXIII will have class at UFJF Campus; elementary remains undefined

Students from Colégio de Aplicação João XXIII's high school and Youth and Adult Education programs will resume classes at the UFJF Campus due to the closure of their original school building.

Students from Colégio de Aplicação João XXIII, including those in high school and the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program, are set to resume classes on Monday, the 16th, at the University Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF) campus. This change comes after the school building in the Santa Helena neighborhood was closed by Civil Defense following recent flooding in the area. Classes for high school students will be held at the Faculty of Education building, while EJA students will utilize facilities at the Faculty of Social Work. Specific schedules for the classes are yet to be communicated to the students.

In light of the disruption caused by the flooding, the university has proactively organized the relocation of classes. All teachers and staff have been informed, and UFJF is making necessary adjustments to accommodate the school's requirements and logistics for the students. These arrangements reflect a collaborative effort between the university and the school to ensure continuity of education amidst challenging circumstances.

On the other hand, the situation for elementary school students remains uncertain. The school's administration is actively seeking alternative facilities to ensure that these students can also return to classes soon. The ongoing challenges faced by the students highlight the impact of environmental issues on local education systems and emphasize the need for timely responses to such emergencies.
