L. Tarasevičius and V. Žūsinaitė Triumph in the March 11th Race in Jonava
The second stage of the Lithuanian Running Cup was won by renowned athletes Lukas Tarasevičius and Vaida Žūsinaitė in Jonava.
In a significant event celebrating Lithuania's independence day on March 11th, the second stage of the Lithuanian Running Cup attracted nearly 600 participants who competed in a challenging 15 km race from the Abraham Kulvieč Obelisk to the center of Jonava. The race was not only a test of speed but also a patriotic occasion, as participants reflected on the historical importance of the date. Local runners showcased their skills, with Lukas Tarasevičius and Vaida Žūsinaitė emerging victoriously in their respective categories.
Lukas Tarasevičius, a multiple-time national champion, finished the race with an impressive time of 49 minutes and 21 seconds, just ahead of Latvian runner Kristaps Berzinš, who placed second with 49 minutes and 32 seconds. Tarasevičius expressed his dual motivation for participating, citing both the desire to compete and the opportunity to honor Lithuania's National Day. His acknowledgment of the fierce competition acknowledges the quality of the field racing alongside him, indicating the growing talent in the region.
