The Lithuanian athlete J. Traubaitė, aged 25, commenced the pursuit race in 49th position, which she secured after the 7.5 km sprint competition held the previous day where only 60 out of the participating skiers qualified for the pursuit. Traubaitė began her race 2 minutes and 19.4 seconds behind the sprint champion Maren Kirkeeide from Norway. However, both athletes struggled to maintain their positions during the pursuit, resulting in an underwhelming performance for Traubaitė, who missed five shots during the race, which led her to complete five penalty loops of 150 meters each.
