A group was caught on security cameras stealing picanha meat from a supermarket in Pacatuba, hiding the stolen goods in a child's backpack.

On March 3rd, security cameras recorded two couples, accompanied by a child, as they entered a supermarket in Pacatuba pretending to be customers while they stole premium cuts of picanha. One of the men discreetly placed the stolen meat into the child's backpack before casually walking out of the store. During the theft, another suspect took the opportunity to switch his old flip-flops for a new pair found on store shelves, further showcasing their brazen theft strategy.

The suspects successfully stole more than ten pieces of picanha, each valued at over R$ 100, demonstrating the audacity and planning behind the theft. Store managers reported the incident to local authorities, triggering an investigation by the Civil Police of Pacatuba. This incident highlights not only the rising crime rates but also the lengths individuals may go to in order to commit theft, potentially indicating a deeper socioeconomic issue within the community.

As the investigation unfolds, the Civil Police are working to identify and capture the suspects involved in this case. The use of children as props in criminal activities raises further ethical and legal questions, prompting discussions around the vulnerability of children in such scenarios and the societal factors that contribute to these types of crimes in Brazil.
