Filming for the feature film 'Banzeiro' began on Tuesday in Irurama, a community located in Santarém, western Pará, Brazil. This production marks a significant development in local audiovisual efforts, involving local talent both in front of and behind the camera. Directed by Emanoel Franklin Loureiro, a Santarém native, the film aims to showcase the Amazonian landscape and the everyday lives of local communities as central themes in its narrative.

The film continues the story introduced two decades ago in 'Meu Tempo de Menino,' focusing now on the character Eufrásio as an adult. Once depicted as a young ice cream seller, Eufrásio returns as a grown man working as a mototaxi driver. The film's narrative explores his life experiences and connections with the riverside family amidst the challenges he faces, reflecting on broader themes of survival and familial relationships.

Loureiro explained that the storyline of 'Banzeiro' is rooted in real-life experiences and observations made during his travels throughout the Amazon region.
