The official programming for Carnival 2026 in the neighborhoods of Santarém, Brazil, kicks off with family-oriented events this weekend.
This weekend marks the beginning of the official Carnival 2026 festivities in the neighborhoods of Santarém, located in the western part of Pará, Brazil. The events are designed for families and children, highlighting the community spirit of the Carnival celebrations. On Saturday, starting at 5 PM, the Garotos da Coroa group will host the 3rd Children's Ball "Os fraldinhas" in the Aldeia neighborhood, while the GSDM will hold the Carna-Mirim at 6 PM in the Mapiri neighborhood, promising a vibrant atmosphere for local families.
More than 40 Carnival blocks are participating in this year’s Tapajônico Carnival Circuit, which will extend beyond the main areas to include festivities in local neighborhoods and riverside communities. The main events in Santarém's waterfront area and in Alter do Chão are scheduled from February 14 to 17, but the street parties in neighborhoods are set to continue over the weekend, fostering a sense of unity and celebration among residents.
On Sunday, additional programming is scheduled in three neighborhoods, showcasing the diversity of celebrations across the region. This Carnival aims to engage the community and create memorable experiences for families, solidifying the cultural significance of Carnival in Brazilian society.
