airBaltic group incurred 44.3 million euros in losses last year

Latvia's national airline airBaltic reported losses of 44.3 million euros in the previous year, which is significantly less than the previous year's losses.

The Latvian national airline, airBaltic, reported a loss of 44.3 million euros for the past year, which represents a decrease of 2.7 times compared to the losses reported in 2024. This improvement indicates that the company is gradually recovering from financial difficulties. Additionally, the airline saw an increase in revenue by 4.2%, reaching 779.3 million euros, signaling a positive trend despite the losses.

In 2025, airBaltic's route network transported 5.2 million passengers, marking a 1% increase from 2024. The total number of flights conducted, including full-service aircraft rental under ACMI, reached 78,400, which is a 7% increase. Within this, the number of flights within the airline's route network grew by 3%, totaling 48,300 flights, and ACMI flights rose by 15%, contributing to the overall flight activity.

However, despite these positive indicators, the average seat occupancy rate for airBaltic was reported at 80.2%, which is slightly down by one percentage point from the previous year. This occupancy rate is critical for the airline's profitability and demonstrates the ongoing challenges in the aviation sector for this year. The financial performance of airBaltic reflects both the recovery from previous significant losses and the competitive landscape they are navigating in the airline industry.
