airBaltic CEO Hildens: Last year was challenging for the company's operations

airBaltic reported a loss of 44.3 million euros last year, but increased its revenue by 4.2% to 779.3 million euros.

The Latvian national airline airBaltic faced a challenging year, with reported losses amounting to 44.3 million euros, a significant decrease compared to the previous year's losses. However, the company noted a revenue increase of 4.2%, reaching a total of 779.3 million euros. This reflects a resilience in their financial performance despite the difficulties encountered in the aviation sector.

In terms of passenger transport, airBaltic saw a slight increase in the number of passengers carried in 2025, totaling 5.2 million, which is 1% higher than the previous year. The airline's operational performance also improved, with the total number of flights increasing by 7% to 78,400, which included both scheduled flights and ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) charter services. Particularly noteworthy is the growth in ACMI flights, increasing by 15%.

Despite these positive trends, airBaltic's average seat occupancy remained relatively stable at 80.2%, only slightly down from the previous year. This metric, along with the increase in operational and financial activities, highlights the airline's ongoing efforts to improve its performance amidst a competitive and often volatile market. The adjustments in their strategies seem to be aimed at enhancing sustainability and long-term growth within the complex aviation landscape.
