The First Lady of Yobe State, Hafsat Buni, has made a significant contribution to the welfare of vulnerable women in the state by distributing food items to 2,000 individuals during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative, which stretches across the 17 Local Government Areas of Yobe, is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative that she coordinates. The gesture targets those who are most in need, especially widows and those facing food insecurity, in an effort to provide much-needed support during this important fasting period.

At the event, which was represented by the Commissioner for the Yobe State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mairo Amshi, the First Lady emphasized the importance of such initiatives in not only supporting the immediate needs of vulnerable populations but also in enhancing community resilience. She highlighted that empowering women is a key focus of the Renewed Hope Initiative, which seeks to create lasting positive changes within the community. The distribution of Ramadan packages, containing essential staples like rice, spaghetti, and cooking oil, is designed to alleviate some of the financial strain on families during the fasting month.
