Soon in Citylife the Zaha Hadid Walk under her tower

A pedestrian walkway in Citylife, dedicated to the late architect Zaha Hadid, has been approved by the Municipality 8 in Milan.

In a notable tribute to renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the Municipality 8 in Milan has given the green light for a pedestrian walkway to be named in her honor. This walkway will be situated in Citylife, an area known for its striking skyscrapers, specifically in the vicinity of the Generali Tower, which stands at 177 meters tall. Although Hadid designed the tower, she unfortunately did not live to see its completion, passing away in 2016.

The decision to name this walkway was influenced by Hadid's significant contributions to contemporary architecture, particularly in Milan, where her designs have left a lasting impact on the city's skyline. The Municipality's resolution highlights her as "one of the most visionary and influential architects of the 20th and 21st centuries," recognizing her role in shaping the architectural landscape of Milan through projects like the Generali Tower.

This naming serves not only as a memorial to her legacy but also aligns with the city's efforts to foster urban spaces that reflect architectural innovation and excellence. The new walkway will provide both residents and visitors a chance to appreciate the artistry of Hadid's work within the context of Milan's evolving urban environment, further cementing her influence on the city's identity.
