A sensational case of kidnapping for a ransom of 5 million rupees has emerged in Pune, Maharashtra, where police successfully rescued the victim and arrested six suspects.

In a startling incident in Rahatani, Pune, Maharashtra, a businessman was kidnapped in broad daylight for a ransom demand of 50 lakh rupees (5 million rupees). The whole episode had a film-like quality, as the victim was forcibly taken away by five unknown assailants in a black Swift car. After the kidnapping, the accused contacted the victim's brother to demand the ransom, threatening the businessman’s life if the payment was not met. Fortunately, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police's anti-gang and anti-extortion units acted swiftly to locate and rescue the abducted businessman unharmed,

Following a prompt complaint registered by the victim's brother at the Kalewadi police station, authorities launched an investigation based on CCTV footage that captured the entire kidnapping incident. In a raid, police arrested six individuals involved in the crime and confiscated various items, including two firearms, six live cartridges, five mobile phones, a luxury watch valued at 7 lakh rupees, and the car used in the abduction, amounting to a total of approximately 18 lakh rupees worth of goods.
