Painter electrocuted while working at a water treatment station in Uberlândia

A 38-year-old painter named Túlio Wilson Guimarães died after being electrocuted while painting at a water treatment facility in Uberlândia, Brazil.

Túlio Wilson Guimarães, a 38-year-old painter, tragically died from electrocution while performing work at the Bom Jardim Water Treatment Station in Uberlândia on October 10. The accident occurred when he used an aluminum pole to paint a structure situated about five meters high, accidentally contacting a high voltage power line above.

Emergency services, including the fire department, arrived on the scene after receiving reports of the incident but found Guimarães with no vital signs, leading to his death being confirmed on-site. The area was secured, and his body was subsequently transported to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) before being handed over to a funeral home for further arrangements.

In the wake of this incident, the Municipal Water and Sewage Department (Dmae) released a statement indicating that it would undertake necessary administrative measures following the accident. This tragedy highlights ongoing concerns about workplace safety, particularly in environments where heavy machinery and electrical installations are present, underscoring the need for strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent such accidents in the future.
