A tragic incident occurred in Nova Ubiratã, Brazil, where Edilson Gonçalves Jorge de Souza, a 42-year-old worker, was killed after being struck by an electric shock while he was working on a road construction project on MT-242. The accident took place on Wednesday, October 18, as Souza was involved in deep drainage services near a high-voltage power line while an excavator was operating nearby.

Eyewitness accounts and the police report reveal that Souza was approximately four meters away from the excavator when the accident occurred. The electric shock was so severe that he was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the rapid response of emergency teams who were dispatched to provide assistance. Unfortunately, they arrived too late, finding him without vital signs.
