Municipal students in SP more than quadruple approvals in the Paulista Exam

The number of municipal students in São Paulo approved for public universities through the Paulista Exam has increased from 16 to 69 this year.

In a remarkable achievement, the number of municipal education students in São Paulo approved for public universities through the Paulista Exam Seriado has surged from 16 to 69 this year, marking a more than fourfold increase compared to the previous cycle. This year’s successful candidates have secured spots at prestigious institutions including Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), and Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), as well as local colleges such as Fatec and Univesp.

With a total of 69 approved students, this represents approximately 9% of the 755 students enrolled in the third year of high school across the nine municipal schools offering this educational level. The municipal Secretary of Education, Fernando Padula, attributes this success to a concerted effort throughout the academic year aimed at encouraging student participation in the examination. This approach highlights the increasing commitment to enhancing educational outcomes within public schools in São Paulo.

In addition to motivational initiatives, the Education Secretary launched the "Bom de Prova" campaign, which featured live sessions with educational influencers and extensive promotion across social media, public transport, and city signage. Such strategies are part of a broader vision to uplift student aspirations and achievements, indicating a positive trend towards improved access to higher education for municipal school students in São Paulo.
